Entry 6Port Barber Terminal
Port Barber is located on the southern part of the Maine Coast, and is set in the 1930's. No grade. #4 & #6 Turnouts. I picked this setting because I always wanted to build those cool seaside craftsman kits. Although Port Barber is located on the coast, it is also an agricultural hub for truck crops, maple syrup and honey. Other exports are fresh and canned fish and lobster. Legend:
The terminal is worked by an 0-6-0 Tank Engine. It sets outgoing cars on the main behind the runaround turnout and toward roundtable. The road engine pulls around the set-out cars to the turntable, turns around, and takes on water. It collects the cars and pulls out to the main. It then backs the incoming cars back to the double slip. The switcher distributes the cars as needed and, when they are full, moves refers to icing platform. Incoming: Empties, coal, diesel fuel, gasoline, LCL, agricultural supplies, salt, sand, empty cans, Outgoing: Fresh and Canned Fish, Lobster, Produce, Honey, Maple Syrup, LCL |
