The Buffalo and Susquehanna is an HO layout with a large operating potential. It has 2 railroads represented. This layout has a Class 1 railroad on the loop and a point to point short line with 2 interchanges and a small yard. It also could be operated as a branch line of the Class 1 railroad.

For power on the B&S you would want a pair of 4 axel power. A pair of GP7, GP9, GP18 or and Alco power road with some 424 or 425 with a smaller S or SW in the yard. Trains should be around 6 to 8 cars long, most trains should be only powered by one locomotive.

The layout is to be at a height so that you could have the industrial buildings between industrial area 1 and 2 for a view block. The railroad could be dated to any era depending on the industries selected for the various areas.

The B&S can easily have enough jobs to keep busy anywhere from one to three operators busy. Since the yard is small, runs to the interchanges are very important to keep the yard density down.
